Journey to the Whale's Vagina---err I mean San Diego.

Over the weekend my bf and our friends went over to San Diego to visit one of our friend's brother who's working in the Navy out there. I've never actually been to San Diego so it was a nice little trip to a new city. Didn't realize it was THAT close to Mexico. :P The weekend consisted of mostly chillin inside his apt and just hanging out. It was more of a relaxing trip as we didn't plan to do anything costly. I definitely want to check out Legoland or Sea World sometime! Even though we didn't really do much, it was fun hanging out with our friends from SD and playing the Wii U! That thing is so cool. Wish it wasn't $400 though. We went to Hash House since they have one in SD! It's like me and Patrick's favorite place to eat in Vegas! So we were stoked for that. The portions were huge, as always. I basically mega-cheated the entire weekend and probably consumed about 3000 calories a day. LOL. That's what happens when I'm with my friends for an entire weekend. Diet-be-gone. We walked over to a couple of places like Balboa Park and some other place I forget what it was called. Overall, it was a nice relaxing weekend. Even though we didn't do that much while we were there, it was still fun. It's definitely always a treat to escape LA loll.

My bf and I are both huge avid players of League of Legends and he's a big fan of one of the champions named NIDALEE (which is also the name of our newest kitty ^__^)

TL;DR, RiotGames comes out with Champion skins which players can buy with real money. Some skins are exclusive and cannot be purchased once they are no longer sold. Needless to say, all the skins that came out way before are no longer available. One of his favorites was Snow Bunny Nidalee. Here's the Chinese splash art for it: 

For Christmas, I couldn't get him the skin....so I thought I could make him the skin XD And since I've been practicing with vector art again, I thought I'd put it to some use. 

It took me about a good 4hrs to do it, only using the Pen Tool on Illustrator. It's a bitch trust me. I'm sure this is why tablets exist. But they're expensive :(. I generally start off by rough lines via the pencil tool, which tends to create very rounded edges. To then create the sharp, clean look, I'll trace over with the pen tool. It takes a while but if you practice with the pen tool enough, it starts to feel second nature. I'm not on that level yet lol but I definitely feel like I'm getting more and more used to it. And to be quite honest, the pen tool has become my best friend with most of my designs. I'm a simplistic designer so naturally, vector art is something I really dig. 

Speaking of tablets, I did get a miniature drawing tablet for myself on Christmas. I say "miniature" because that thing is tiny. lol. The drawing space is like, 5x3 or something like that. But I think if anything, it's nice for photo editing. I've yet to really draw intricate things on it yet because it's quite hard actually. Drawing on paper and drawing on a tablet is completely different. I'll learn to use it eventually. 

What to know about adopting a cat from the shelter + Tips on being on your cat's level.

For my birthday (which was on Saturday) my bf surprised me with my long awaited KITTY #2!! Our first cat, Jax, who is now almost 2yrs old or so was an adopted cat. He was 9 months old when we adopted him and it was pretty much established that it was "meant to be".
Let me start off by talking about my experience and background with cats prior to our first cat: NONE. There. I said it. My family is allergic to cats so I never had one growing up. And maybe some people are on the same boat. I'm a 25yr old student and I live with my boyfriend who works full time. Neither one of us had any experience with cats until we adopted Jax. With that being said, first timers to cats can either be extremely pleasant and successful or be a disaster. It's all about YOUR mentality as a person really.

First of all, if want to adopt a cat, please ask yourself WHY.
For example, our reason was that, well, we had been living together as a couple for over a year, and like a married couple once settled down might eventually want kids, we wanted a new addition to our family as well. Since we're not married, pets were the alternative. Or if you are single, perhaps you just want a companion.

(This is going to be a very lengthy post. And I mean....like, really long. I type too fast lol)

Hey guys so I wanted to make an updated post about my current favorite game, LoL. Earlier this year I was writing an intro about it on my blog HERE but I felt like I could explain the game more in depth and thoroughly so that some of my friends can pick it up really fast. By now, LoL is one of the fastest growing competitive games in the world and everywhere from Europe to Asia, this game has collected massive amounts of fans and players. If you're looking for a game you can play with your friends, this is definitely a good game to try. And of course, it's free to play!

DONE SON!

YIPPEEEEEEEEEE I had my finals and this quarter is DONE SON. That means, I get an actual winter break instead of a dinky 1 week break like usual. 2 WHOLE WEEKS BABY. I'm so happy and excited that I've been super nice to everyone LOL. I have a lot of things to blog about but right now I'm catching up with my Leagu since I haven't played in a while.

Since the new patch updates for season 3 (meaning, all the massive changes and new items that I have yet to read about) I pretty much suck at Summoner's Rift, so I've been tryharding on Dominion instead :D .........with AP Soraka

I try to come in 1st place in every single game. Oh, in case you're curious and have no idea what I'm trying to get at.......Soraka is a SUPPORT champion. Yeah.....but she rawks k. 

Except that one game where I came in 2nd. F THAT. I DONT TAKE 2ND PLACE. THATS FOR LOSERS.  /rant

Purple hair + other randomosities

 So I tried to dye my hair blue with Manic Panic semi-permanent dye, but it came out TERRIBLE. I guess I kind of expected it since blue + yellow = green but seriously, my hair looked like what I can only describe as Oscar the grouch being obliterated and his remains splattering all over my hair. Yeah.......it was that bad.

So I had a little bit of my Fuschia dye left from before and I diluted the crap out of it and tried to overlay it on top of the green/blue fiasco. Turned out okay but now my hair has a lot of random color streaking. In some ways, it's kinda cool but at the same time, it's a little weird looking in person lol. Well at least it's only semi-permanent. I'll enjoy/hate it while it lasts. :P

It does have an ombre effect at the tips, which kind of just happened accidentally because my tips were much more on the 'whiter' side of blonde than the rest of my hair.

The contacts I got are Honoo Violet lenses or something like that, I got these ShoppingHolics I believe. lol I forget. This is what it looks like in room light.

My makeup station. I got another container thing from Target (on the left side) to store all my big brushes and BB creams and etc stuff. I like that the brush holder is actually meant for a blowdryer lol

My mascara stash. I honestly do not even know why I buy mascara. I don't know if this is considered "a lot" or "little" to most girls but seriously, I think I've used all of these maybe like once or twice. I might do a review on all of them esp. for girls like me because I have NO LASHES. I mean, you know girls say that all the time (esp Asian girls) but no really, I really have very short lashes that are almost invisible. So if I want dramatic, I just use falsies. They are so much easier! The only mascara I have not used at all yet is the Falsies volume express one by mabeline (it's the pink one). My favorite/most used mascara is a combination of Lash Accelerator and that black Loreal waterproof mascara next to it. LOOVE that Loreal one! Makes my almost non existent lashes exist!

On a last random note, my boyfriend got me a DeathAdder as an early bday present LOL. The DeathAdder was actually my first gaming mouse which I bought super long ago (I believe 3-4yrs ago??) and it broke on me like a few weeks ago. It was the best mouse ever. Countless games of Counterstrike, Left4Dead, and LoL were played with that mouse. Then I had to substitute a shitty mouse to play LoL until now. YAYYY love this mouse!! /geeking

Finally, it's Hoodie weather!

It's that time of year again where I can bring out my colorful, warm, and soft hoodies!

I don't know about you guys but I'm totally feeling "Winter" already. It's always a little weird to me that Halloween borders Christmas time because Halloween is such a different vibe from Winter I think. On a side note, I'm actually sitting here listening to one of my favorite xmas tracks of all time, "Let It Snow" by Boyz II Men. I know, I know. But I hate how Christmas R&B music is so damn good but has very distinct lyrics about 'Christmas", so I feel that it's really only appropriate to listen to the songs during Winter time lol.

I don't know if it's the designer in me, but I swear I am never satisfied with any design......ever. I've been trying to fix my blog layout to my liking but for some reason I just end up not liking it and changing it all over again. I think I'm just a difficult person to satisfy. lol. For now, I like the modern look of this layout so I'll 'most likely' keep it for a while.

I actually can't sleep at the moment (2:30am) because we had to call the cops on the tenants above us because they were blasting music and my bf couldn't sleep. I mean seriously, this pisses me off so much because for one, it's a flipping SUNDAY. Do people not have work?? I guess that's not fair to ask because I don't have work.......lol but the point is, you live in an apt. This isn't your house. It's just really inconsiderate to do that when you're living in a place surrounded by other tenants. The cops came and they finally shut up but now I just can't sleep so I figured I'd blog since that usually helps me get sleepy. I've been looking online for color and design ideas for our new apt which we will be moving into in about 2 weeks! Everytime I think about the move, I'm both excited and not so excited because I hate moving. But I am excited to be moving closer to L.A. and school. So far my ideas for the room is to have a nice blue or gray blue color on the back wall with white wall accents. I really want to paint the walls in the kitchen green but the kitchen is so tiny that I don't know if it's even worth doing it. For the living room I was thinking royal blue walls with black compliments (furniture) but I have to talk it over with the bf. We'll probably head to Home Depot this weekend to pick out colors.

Well I'm going to try and go back to sleep. I'll probably dream of Christmas since I've been listening to Christmas tracks this entire time. gaahhh lol

My Princess Camera!!! [jeweled]

I can't believe I actually decided to do this, but I tried to "decoden" my LX5 just because it's something I've always wanted to do to my electronics but didn't have the balls to do. In fact, I'm still not sure I have the balls to do it. I don't know what came over me.

Speaking of LX5............so guess which camera I decided to keep? :D Yeah, I ended up going with the Lumix because the Olympus has been having a focusing issue and it really bugs me. Upon further inspection of the lens on the Olympus.....I saw a small very tiny but visible CRACK! I think that's why it's been having the focusing issue. Although oddly enough, people are saying on forums that the XZ-1 is known for focusing a bit off.....but the crack still bugs me and I know it didn't come from me so I'm returning the Olympus. I wanted to keep both because I had such a hard time choosing but I guess this is a sign. I'm sure my bf is ecstatic because he hated that I was trying to keep both cameras. lol It's okay, that means I can save up for that sexy D60 (Canon) that I will......have in.........10yrs or so. ;___;

The rest of the comparison reviews will unfortunately have to be canceled like a good TV show and given a choppy ending for viewer sake. Beyond the focusing issue (whether it's the crack's fault or not...) I did play with both a good amount so I have a good summary of the two. I'll post the finale to that comparison review when I'm not busy with midterms and projects.

Anyway, back to the topic...........I didn't actually bling the entire camera because I ran out of the swarovski crystals!! But I think it's okay. I kind of don't want the entire camera to be blinged. The cool thing about the glue I used is that it's strong but can also be 'rubbed off'. So if I really wanted to, I can just take off the bling and resell the camera in it's original form but I'm pretty sure that's not going to happen because so far I like the Lumix more for "fast" photography. The olympus takes brilliant photos but sometimes is a bitch to take a quick pic cuz of the focusing issue.

I'll shut up now and show you the camera. It's not perfect in any way. In fact, there were so many ugly little pot holes that I couldn't cover up that I very gracefully had to cover them up with PS twinkles. At least it looks cuter that way.

 I actually painted the hand grip part with spray paint. Let me just say.......ITS A BITCH AND ONLY DO IT IF YOU'RE SUPER DUPER CAREFUL. I used tape to cover the rest of the camera and then used a paper to surround only the grip part to spray paint. I was super careful too but when I took the tape off, the surrounding area had pink paint splattered all over it! Let me just say, if you're thinking of doing something similar to cover up an ugly hand grip on your camera or something similar, TAKE THE TAPE OFF IMMEDIATELY. You might think, shouldnt I wait for it to dry so the paint won't drip? NO. Because the paint can get underneath the tape still and drip under it and if it dries, IT DRIES. So it's better that it's wet so you can take a thin object with a blunt end (like a mechanical pencil) cover the tip with a paper towel and wipe around. That's why it looks so clean on mine. It was a hassle though.

Icy Tropical Delight

I was talking about wanting to do more makeup related posts. Not really because I'm aspiring to become a guru or anything like that but mainly because I invested so much money into makeup that I don't even use on a daily basis -__-. And in any case, a lot of the makeup I buy is sorta unconventional because they consist of bold colors, like the lipstick I'm wearing and the loud eye colors. I am honestly sucha lazy blogger. I don't wear makeup like this IRL, even though it would be cool too mainly because my eyes are super sensitive so wearing contacts or a lot of eye makeup irritates my eyes super easily. Since I got a new camera, I figured I can take some pictures of my makeup easier instead of trying to take pictures of myself with my big fat DSLR or have crappy quality ones from my Macbook. 

Anyway, I also have a bunch of cosmetic glitters and wanted to use them again! But boy, let me just say that glitter specs falling into your eyes while you're wearing colored contacts is really not so fun.

It's really difficult to capture the glitter specs on the camera by myelf. In normal shots, the blue kind of just looks like shimmer but it is in fact micro glitter specs. This was the best I could do with some help from photoshop of course. :3
